BOSTON TOWNSHIP

The Township minutes are posted on our website at www.bostontownship.org and outside the fiscal office at the Boston Township Hall. Meetings are covered by the West Side Leader. Trustee meetings are the second and fourth Wednesday of the month. Zoning commission meets the second Tuesday of the month and the Board of Zoning Appeals meets the fourth Tuesday of the month.

Road Department: : Brush pick up commenced the first Monday in May and will continue through October. Place cut ends toward the curb. Please no dirt, or dirt balls and no foreign material such as lumber, nails, or barbed wire. For more information, please call the Road Department at (330) 657-2600. Should there be no one in the garage to answer, please leave a message. Also, all of the township-maintained roads have received their first mowing of the summer. If all goes as expected, the township`s new truck, which was partially secured using Volkswagen settlement money, should arrive very soon.

Zoning Updates: There will be a hearing before the Board of Zoning Appeals for the property at 5374 Akron-Cleveland Rd. regarding an application for a storage business. Board of Zoning Appeals member Paul Kaczmarski was reappointed to a five-year term expiring in 2026. We thank Paul and all of the members of the zoning boards for their many years of service to the community.

Thank you, Joe!: At the meeting held on May 26, the trustees recognized Joe Varga for his many years of service to the community as Chief of the Peninsula Police Department.

Welcome, Chief Nagy: At the meeting held on June 9, the trustees welcomed Jay Nagy, recently appointed Chief of the Peninsula Police Department.

Congratulations Woodridge Track and Field!: The trustees offered congratulations to the Woodridge boys track and field team for their first-place finish at the Division II State meet.
