PENINSULA FOUNDATION IS IMPROVING ITS PROPERTIES TO BENEFIT ALL
You may have noticed changes happening at several properties owned by the Peninsula Foundation. The addition to the GAR Hall will be completed this summer, with grand opening celebrations planned for September. The addition`s main focus was to allow for improved ADA accessibility in this historic Hall. ADA restrooms, an improved refreshment area and a gathering room for before and after events are featured improvements.
Much work is also being done to repurpose Peninsula`s historic Bank building at 1653 Main Street. This building will soon be the home of The Peninsula Coffee House and Wine Market. This renovation is expected to be ready for its grand opening this Summer. Putting this building back to productive use is a first step in the Peninsula Foundation`s strategy to better utilize the properties it owns for the benefit of residents and visitors to the region.
To further achieve its mission, the Peninsula Foundation is seeking proposals from potential partners for development of seven of its properties located in the heart of the Village of Peninsula including three located at the intersection of Riverview Road and Route 303. Our focus will be to respect the unique historic character of the Village and contribute to the Foundation`s and Village`s financial stability. This will provide needed quality commercial services to Peninsula Village, Boston Township and their visitors.
The deadline for responses is the end of June and we expect to move forward on one or more opportunities before the end of the year, so stay tuned for more renovations in the near future.
