BOSTON TOWNSHIP

Annual Report: The annual report for Boston Township for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2022, is available for review at the office of township Fiscal Officer Pam Schneider. For more information, please contact Pam at (330) 657-2059 or at p.schneider@bostontownship.org .
Akron-Cleveland Road: The Summit County Engineer`s Office is stating that the Akron-Cleveland Road improvement project will begin soon.
Wetmore Road: The trustees have asked the Summit County Engineer`s Office to conduct a review of Wetmore Road. Until we have their report, we do not know what concerns there are regarding the condition of the road or any cost estimates to make improvements. All the land along both sides of Wetmore Road is owned by either the U.S. government or Metro Parks. All residents have been removed from Wetmore Road in Boston Township.
Brush Pick-up: Brush pick-up commences the first Monday in May and continues through October. Place cut ends toward the curb. Please no dirt, or dirt balls, and no foreign material such as lumber, nails, or barbed wire. For more information, please call the Road Department at (330) 657-2600.
Zoning Updates: Ron Summers was re-appointed to the Board of Zoning Appeals for a five-year term expiring June 3, 2028. The Zoning Commission is continuing to review the provisions in the zoning resolution regarding Home Occupations.
Road Garage: The trustees have approved tuckpointing repairs to the Road Garage. After those have been completed, the building will be repainted by Color Renovations, the company that painted the Township Hall building last year.
Cemetery Meeting: The annual joint meeting of the township trustees and Peninsula Village Council to discuss the funding of both Cedar Grove and Boston cemeteries through the joint Union Cemetery Association was postponed until June 13.
Road Closure: Summit County Engineer Alan Brubaker, PE, PS would like to alert residents and motorists of an upcoming three-day closure of Boston Mills Road between Olde 8 Road and Hines Hill Road starting Tuesday, May 30, 2023 and ending Thursday, June 1, 2023. This closure is due to a crossover pipe replacement. The detour route will be posted. The detour route involves Hines Hill Road and Olde 8 Road. All work is subject to inclement weather.
