BOSTON TOWNSHIP

SPEEDY RECOVERY WISHES: After a small set back our clerk, Joanne Noragon, is recovering and back to work. Zoning secretary, Lida Flowers Brandt, is recovering from back surgery and former zoning commission member and zoning secretary, Wes Bergdorf is recovering from surgery. Our prayer and speedy recovery wishes to all.

CONDOLENCES: Donna Kostandaras, wife of County Councilman Nick Kostandaras passed away July 9th at the age of sixty-nine. Donna accompanied Nick on many of his visits to our township meetings and graciously included us in many of their gatherings.

MEETING ROOM: Mark Biro, formerly of Boston Township, is now general contractor in charge of our meeting room renovation. Mark did the construction of the offices in the basement of the old school building. We are pleased to have his excellent workmanship on our project.

TRAFFIC LIGHT: There will be a traffic signal installed by the end of the year at Kendall Park and Akron-Cleveland Roads. Years ago we asked for this signal to be installed and ODOT representatives stated the traffic flow did not indicate the need for a signal. We were given a caution signal instead. With the increase of traffic the traffic signal is warranted.

ROAD REPAIRS: The Hines Hill culvert replacement and Major Road paving project is expected to be completed by the end of July. The Major Road project is being done the full length of the road involving both Richfield and Peninsula. The majority of the funding for both projects has been made possible by the CVNP’s grant for road assistance.

PENINSULA JEDD EXPLORATION: No further meetings have been held exploring this possibility. The township’s next step is rezoning for the properties that will be included in the JEDD.

BICENTENNIAL COMMITTEE: The Bicentennial Committee continues to meet on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 in the Township meeting room. Anyone wishing to help is invited.
