Don't forget to join the Peninsula Valley Historic & Education Foundation on May 12th for the second Civil War lecture in our Civil War Lecture Series. Mel Mauer as President Abraham Lincoln will be presenting An Evening with Abraham Lincoln at Ford’s Theater at the G.A.R. Hall Museum. The program will begin at 7:00pm in the auditorium and is free to the public. Light refreshments will be provided. The Peninsula Valley Historic and Education Foundation is pleased to announce that the 2011 Heritage Ohio Preservation Hero Award winner is the late Robert L. Hunker. This award is presented to an individual, organization or a business that has shown outstanding leadership in revitalizing and preserving Ohio communities. Mr. Hunker was nominated posthumously for his involvement and leadership extending from historic home and structure preservation to valley lands becoming National Park.
