BOSTON TOWNSHIP

EAD: Following a public hearing on January 9, 2013 the Trustees passed a zoning resolution to form an Economic Activity District. The Trustees met with Peninsula Mayor Doug Mayer and Councilperson Dee Holody to discuss the possibility of a Joint Economic Development District with Peninsula.

ZONING: If you are interested in serving on the Board of Zoning Appeals or as an alternate to either the zoning commission or the BZA, please contact one of the trustees.

STINE ROAD IMPROVEMENTS: The Trustees along with the Village of Peninsula, are seeking additional grant money from the NPS to restructure Stine Road. This joint effort is expected to take two years and will have 20% matching of funds from the community. Summit County at large Councilman Bill Roemer attended the February 13th Trustee meeting and was asked to see if the County could assist with the project. Mr. Roemer was also asked to help with efforts to curb problems both the Township and Village are having with engine brake noise on the Ohio Turnpike.

STATE ROAD SEWER PROJECT: Trustee Jerry Ritch along with Marty Griffith met with Summit County Department of Environmental Services Director Mike Weant regarding the sewer project. It is estimated that the cost will be 1.3 to 1.4 million dollars with the Township’s share at $955,000.
