A TIME FOR THANKS
The Trustees have much to be thankful for this past year and we will start with our Share-A-Christmas program and those who made it possible. For the past sixteen years, we have sponsored this event and as a Township, this is one of the best things we do.
A big thank you to Paul and Marsha Sergi for their most generous monetary donation. This is just one of the many ways in which the Sergis help our community. Thank you to two divisions at Allstate in Hudson. The Helping Hands Committee, under the direction of Natalie Kreptkowski, Lindsay Sobecki, and Michelle Pfaff, provided many wonderful gifts for the children. The Hudson Express Office, under the direction of Mike Martin, provided gift cards to many area stores. Helping others is a way of life for the good folks at Allstate. They volunteer year round at many area agencies. Thank you to the generous parishioners at Mother of Sorrows. Their Giving Tree provided many gifts. Peninsula United Methodist Church members provided much needed food, gloves, hats, scarves, and mittens. Under the direction of Mrs. Vineyard, the students of Woodridge High School provided non-perishable food items. Thank you to Terry Lumber and the Peninsula Library for once again allowing us to place drop off boxes for food. Thank you to all of the members of our community who so generously donated at these locations. Thanks also to Tony and Lida Flowers Brandt for their monetary donation. Last but not least thank you to our elves, Charlene Cooper, Gloria Ritch, and Linda Dyczkiewycz for helping pack all of the gifts and food and also to Valley Fire for their delivery services.
Thank you to Mike Mraz for his most generous donation that offset the cost of two radios for our road department. The radios will allow our road crew to have immediate contact with police, fire and rescue services.
Jerry, Randy and I are thankful to our residents for approving the new JEDD with Peninsula. We look forward to the positive changes this will bring in 2014.
Thanks to the Boston Heights Council for joining forces with Valley Fire allowing us for the first time to have full-time fire and rescue services for our community. Keep an eye out for the new rescue squad that was delivered earlier this month.
This is also a time of remembering those who have left us too soon. We are all thankful for the friendship of John Lahoski. Our community will always remember December 19, 2005.
