BOSTON TOWNSHIP

CONDOLENCES: On February 6, 2015 our good friend, Jay Pedone, passed away. Jay served as our police liaison while a member of Peninsula’s council. He was very instrumental in the return of Peninsula police coverage for the Township. Many of you will remember the Senior Spaghetti Dinners instituted by Police Chief Jimmy McCue where Jay and Barb provided all of the spaghetti and meatballs.

CHRISTMAS THANKS: Additional thanks for assistance for our annual Share-A-Christmas project to Tony and Lida Brandt, Jan Bergdorf and her niece, Abbey, for providing coloring book kits with hand-made crayons for all of the children, and to Larry Bell for providing teddy bears for all.

ZONING: The Trustees have accepted the recommendations of the zoning commission with regards to changes in the accessory building definition in the zoning regulations. This will be forwarded to Summit County for review. FIRE BOARD: The Trustees reappointed Richard Slocum to the at-large position on the Valley Fire Board.

PENINSULA JEDD: the Trustees met with representative from Peninsula for their annual Joint Economic Development District board meeting. Jerry Ritch will chair the board and Dan Schneider is vice-chairman.

TURNPIKE SOUND MITIGATION: The Trustees along with Joe Paradise from the Summit County Engineer’s Office will be applying for a grant for sound mitigation in the area west of the Cuyahoga River bridge
