Man is not what
he thinks he is;
he is what he hides.

BOSTON TOWNSHIP

ZONING: The Trustees held a public hearing on July 8, 2015 regarding the zoning regulations for ancillary buildings. There were no public comments and the changes were approved by the Trustees. The purpose of the changes was to increase the size of the buildings permitted without going to the appeals board for a variance.

POLICE LEVY: The Trustees agreed to place a seven mill replacement levy on the November ballot. This levy generates roughly $147,000 per year for police protection. It was our hope that the JEDD with Peninsula would generate enough funding to make up the difference between what is collected on the current levy and the actual figure paid for policing services. The Trustees are very disappointed in the performance of the agency remitting taxes that have been or should have been collected. The shortage of funds means all township functions will be considered for cuts: policing, zoning department, road department, and services to residents.

ODOT: The Trustees agreed to contact ODOT for sound mitigation in the form of no engine brake signs on the I-271 Cuyahoga River bridge.

AUGUST KIDS MONTH: The Trustees agreed to endorse the Summit County Executive’s request to support their August Kid Month program.
