Peninsula Area Chamber of Commerce, friends, and neighbors invite you to Return Home to the Heart of the Holidays this season. Mark your calendars and join us in celebrating the season.
Peninsula Candlelight Walk - Thursday, December 3 from 5-8 pm. Stroll through the luminary-lit Village, enjoy tasty treats at locally-owned businesses, take in a holiday movie
at the Library, meet costumed historic characters and singing groups along the way, and greet neighbors, family, and friends. You are encouraged to wear an "ugly" Christmas sweater or holiday hat to add to the festive mood.
COMMUNITY TREE LIGHTING at 6:00 on December 3.
Residents, families, friends - ALL are invited to the official lighting of our larger and more securely situated community tree from Heritage Farms. Meet at 6 pm on the "green", courtesy of The Peninsula Foundation beside the Bronson Church. Help to decorate the tree by adding your donated ornament. Join in the caroling led by the Woodridge Rhapsody Choir. Let's celebrate our community during this holiday season.
Saturday, December 5: Oh what fun! LIVE reindeer on the "green" beside the Bronson Church, the Community Christmas Sale of handcrafts and antiques by local vendors at the Boston Township Hall, Santa at Trail Mix, Three old-fashioned sing-alongs at the Bronson Church, Christmas crafts and a movie at the Peninsula Library, Shopping and specials at locally- owned businesses throughout the Village, and more! The GAR will be welcoming visitors this and each Saturday in December with cookies and cocoa as well as special visitors, music and an antique toy collection. Children can mail Letters to Santa in special boxes at Trail Mix and The Brown Rabbit. Please make sure to include return addresses for a reply!
Saturday, December 12: The Elves are coming! Wear your best elf attire and join in the Vintage Elf Scavenger Hunt throughout the village, have pictures taken with Santa at Trail Mix, Shop local and enjoy " specials" at shops and
businesses.
Saturday, November 12: Mrs. Claus will be at the GAR Hall from 12-1:30 with stories from the North Pole.
Saturday, December 19: The Grinch will be in town! Visit him at the GAR Hall; Help him "give back" by donating new socks for needy men, women, and children to be distributed locally. Purchase a raffle ticket for a chance to win the goods returned from local shops and assembled in a gift basket when his heart grew three sizes. Finish your shopping with wonderful gifts from local shops and galleries.
