BOSTON TOWNSHIP

The township minutes are posted on our website at www.bostontownship.org and outside the fiscal office at the Boston Township Hall. Trustee meetings are the second and fourth Wednesday of the month. Zoning commission meets the second Tuesday of the month and the Board of Zoning Appeals meets the fourth Wednesday of the month.

Woodridge Cross Country Teams: In honor of both Woodridge Cross Country teams placing first in the state, the trustees declared December 15, 2016 as Woodridge High School Cross Country Day in Boston Township. Congratulations!

Road Department: The road department will continue to vacuum leaves as weather permits and all is in order for the snow plowing season. The trustees expressed condolences to the family of Road Superintendent Ron Adams upon the passing of his father on October 26.

Zoning Hearing: On October 25, Complete Outdoor Installation, LLC received a hearing before the Board of Zoning Appeals for their property located at 5600 Sullivan Lane. With a few minor conditions regarding future signage and lighting, Outdoor Installation will be issued a permit.

Boston Park Sign Found: Around Halloween, one of the signs from the little Boston Triangle Park went missing. Boston village residents Mike Duff and Susan Black found it while hiking the Buckeye Trail and returned it to the township. Our thanks for making sure that it came home!

Food Drive: Once again boxes have been placed for collecting food for persons in need of a little assistance for the holidays. Boxes are place at Terry Lumber, Peninsula United Methodist Church, and the Peninsula Library. We are grateful to all who bring in food items. Please help us to make this program a great success by checking sell-by dates.

Zoning Positions Available: We are looking for one member for our Zoning Commission and one alternate to the same board. Zoning Commission members meet once a month to analyze the zoning ordinance for any updates or modifications, review changes in zoning laws that might impact the zoning ordinance, and provide guidance to the Board of Zoning Appeals regarding appeals to the zoning ordinance. Please contact one of the trustees if you would like to discuss serving on the Zoning Commission.
