BOSTON TOWNSHIP
The township minutes are posted on our website at www.bostontownship.org and outside the fiscal office at the Boston Township Hall. Trustee meetings are the second and fourth Wednesday of the month. Zoning commission meets the second Tuesday of the month and the Board of Zoning Appeals meets the fourth Wednesday of the month.
Road Department: The trustees approved the replacement of the access door to the road garage. When not busy plowing and salting roads, the Road Department has been working on trimming overhanging branches and repairing ditches.
Zoning Updates: The Zoning Commission continues to work with Mark Majewski of Northstar Planning regarding text amendments to the Business Corridor. Currently under discussion are changes to the zoning text regarding properties in the area of Seasons Road. A hearing was held by the Board of Zoning Appeals on February 27 for EBS Construction of 5079 Akron-Cleveland Road. At that hearing EBS Construction was granted a variance to operate a distributor`s warehouse. The Zoning Commission and the trustees have both recommended two minor changes to the township`s zoning map. Two parcels, 06-00202 and 06-01033, would be changed from R (Residential) to EAD (Economic Activity District). This rezoning will be sent to the Summit County Planning Commission for their consideration. Ultimately hearings will be held by both the Zoning Commission and the trustees.
Township Meeting Date Change: We will be moving the date of our first meeting in April to Thursday, April 12 at 6:00 pm. We are moving the date so that the trustees can attend the village`s sewer meeting that will be held at the same time as our regularly scheduled meeting.
