BOSTON TOWNSHIP

The township minutes are posted on our website at www.bostontownship.org and outside the fiscal office at the Boston Township Hall. . Meetings are covered by the West Side Leader. Trustee meetings are the second and fourth Wednesday of the month. Zoning commission meets the second Tuesday of the month and the Board of Zoning Appeals meets the fourth Tuesday of the month.

Road Department: The Trustees voted to participate in the newly formed Summit County Service Department Response Network. This mutual aid-type agreement could provide for assistance in either staffing or equipment should a community have the need, such as after a natural disaster or some other impactful event. Currently many communities utilize mutual aid when necessary, but this agreement formalizes those instances. The agreement recognizes that no community is under any obligation to respond to a request for assistance and that communities can withdraw from the agreement at any time.

Peninsula Village Lease Agreement: The Trustees voted to extend the contract with Peninsula Village for their road department to rent space in the township`s garage. The contract was extended to March 31, 2022 in order for the village to have time to locate a new garage space. The Peninsula road garage was lost to a fire in January 2019.

Property Reappraisals: Residents who have questions about their new home values are encouraged to contact the Summit County Board of Revision where property owners can request a hearing to discuss the new valuations. A completed DTE-1 form (Complaint Against the Valuation of Real Property) must be received by the Board of Revision by March 31, 2021. For more information, call the Board of Revision at (330) 926-2559 or visit the Fiscal Officer`s website (https://fiscaloffice.summitoh.net/).
