CONGRATULATIONS DAN

Keeping anything a secret from Dan Schneider is pretty much impossible, but that is exactly what happed over the past few months. Much to his surprise, Dan is the newest recipient of the Village of Peninsula`s Award for Lifetime Service.

Dan began a term on council in 1978 where he continues to serve with the exception of a term as mayor from 1996 to 1999. Dan was a member of Valley Fire District for over ten years and for the past ten years he has been a member of their board of trustees. Dan has also served as a member of Union Cemetery Association of Boston Township for thirty-three years.

Dan has been active in programs throughout the Woodridge School System and the Woodridge Recreation Association sports program. Dan did everything from washing uniforms, to mowing grass, to maintaining fields.

Just before the council meeting Dan gave puzzled looks as watched friends take seats in the audience. He was unaware that many of his family members, pictured below, were waiting in the hallway.
