BOSTON TOWNSHIP
The Boston Township minutes are posted on our website at www.bostontownship.organd outside the office of the Fiscal Officer in the Boston Township Hall. Our meetings are not currently being covered by The West Side Leader.
Condolences: The trustees offer their sincere condolences to the family of Joe Paradise. Joe worked for the Summit County Engineer’s Office as a Civil Engineer. But, he was so much more than that to the townships in Summit County. Joe was the "go-to" guy who gave you the straight answers and helped solve problems. Thank you, Joe, for your help and your friendship over the years.
Zoning Update: The Zoning Commission has been working with Fred Guerra of The Town Planning Practice to consider revisions to the zoning resolution. In addition to new subjects which are not covered (solar panels, wind turbines, etc.), the commission is looking to reorganize the resolution.
Police Levy: The police levy that first appeared on the ballot in 1996 will be up for a vote again this fall. It has been renewed five times previously. After thirty years, the township is seeking a .5 mill increase. Additionally, we are working with Peninsula Village for a new police contract as the current contract expires on December 31, 2025. More information on both issues will be forthcoming.
Road Department: The road department will be out this summer mowing the township roads. Please drive with courtesy when you encounter them on your travels. Also, it is important during the summer, when we often have heavy rains, to keep driveway culverts and storm drains free of debris. Please check these periodically to prevent water from collecting.
