LIGHT UP PENINSULA!

The Peninsula Area Chamber of Commerce is planning on our usual celebrations in the month of December. We realize, of course, that this depends on the status of Covid and the weather. However, please mark your calendars now because we all know how busy the holiday season gets.

December 2 will be the Candlelight Walk with luminaries lining Main Street from the business section down to the GAR Hall. (thanks to Channah and Lee Spencer) The tree lighting will take place at 6:00PM on the Bronson Green. Holiday music will be provided by the Rhapsody Singers from Woodridge High School as well as Kent Roosevelt Choir members. (thanks to business and patron donors)

Following the tree lighting the participants of the Door Decorating Contest will have their doors judged. The winner will receive a prize for their creativity and colorful display. Let`s Light Up Peninsula with many doors being decorated.

December 11 will be Christmas in Peninsula. A highlight of this day will be the Reindeer in town behind the Bronson Church. (thanks to The Friends of the Library, the Dowling family, the Snider/Butler household, and the NOPEC Grant for making this happen). There will also be costumed characters and businesses will be spotlighted for their offerings as well.

The Peninsula Library will collaborate with the Chamber by hosting their Christmas Tree Raffle. This is always a fun event and the trees are always so varied and beautiful.

While not a Chamber Event, the Boston Township Trustee will hold their annual Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, December 4 from 10:00AM to 3:00PM. A wonderful bazaar to look for holiday gifts.

It is never too early to start thinking ahead as we enjoy the beautiful Fall season that is coming.
