PENINSULA POLICE

The last few months have been quite busy for Chief Jay Nagy of the Peninsula Police Department. There were four new officers hired and one officer was promoted to full-time status.

Officer Daren Beichler (left) has been a police officer for thirty-nine years. He has served as a deputy sheriff, a township police officer and as a village police officer. He has served as a patrol officer, detective in charge of an evidence room and as a field training officer. Officer Beichler currently resides in Akron, Ohio.

Officer Mark Flynn (right) has (ten) years as police officer and is currently employed full time at the Cuyahoga County Sheriff`s Department as a deputy sheriff. Officer Flynn has served as a field training officer, training instructor, and a hostage negotiator. Officer Flynn holds a Master`s Degree in Criminal Justice Management Leadership.

Officer Cal Krusinski (left) is a lifelong resident of the area and graduated from Woodridge High School in 2015. Cal attended the 2019 winter session of the Akron University Police Academy and joined the Summa Health Care Police Department where he is currently employed. Cal is excited to begin working in a community that his family has been a part of for generations. At his swearing in were his mother and father, Dave and Patti Krusinski, and grandmothers Elaine Johnston Krusinski and Peg Johnston.

Officer Joseph Ostrowski (right) served four years honorably in the United States Army, and an additional two years in the Army Reserves. Officer Ostrowski graduated from the Kent State Police Academy in April 2021. Officer Ostrowski recently rejoined the Army Reserves. Officer Ostrowski currently resides in Cuyahoga Falls with his wife.

Dennis Pongracz has been appointed as the newest full-time police officer. Officer Pongracz has been a police officer for thirteen years, twelve of which have been with the Peninsula Police Department as a part-time officer. During Officer Pongracz`s tenure, he has served as a field training officer, radar instructor, and as a trained CIT officer.
