Former Township resident Rena Hatch Fiedler passed away March 22, 2022 at the age of 95. Preceded in death by her husband, James, Rena is survived by her children, James, Richard, and Debi.

Township resident Paul Wesley Berthold, Jr. passed away April 2, 2022 at the age of 72 following a lengthy illness. Paul is survived by his wife, Linda Cheryl (Coleman); his children, Heather Berthold and Stephanie Andrews (Scott); grandchildren, Mackenzie, Parker, Delaney, Wesley, and Adeline; his siblings, Sally Spohn, Linda Manfrass (Ted), and Kay Guenther (Pat).

Paul graduated from Hudson High School in 1968 and went on to attend Kent State University, earning a degree in business. In 1971, during his senior year at KSU, Paul was named co-captain and Who`s Who in the College Athletics book for his outstanding soccer season. At that time, this publication was considered an All-American recognition. Paul has been described as one of Kent State Men`s Soccer greats and an even better person. Upon his father`s death, Paul took over the family business for a period of time, Berthold Electric Company, in Barberton, Ohio. Paul retired from Thomas and Betts/ABB.

Paul has been described by his friends as a great gentleman who always had a smile and always had the ability to make others laugh. Paul had a never quit approach to life and was truly a wonderful human being to all. Paul always took the high road in life and was an especially wonderful husband, father, grandfather (Tappy), and brother. Paul will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
