AGAIN AKRON-CLEVELAND ROAD HEATS UP

Ric Haury, board member of the Joint Economic Development District (JEDD) reported today that a new water line which is being installed along Akron-Cleveland Road is expected to be completed in November.

Boston Township and the City of Cuyahoga Falls are partners in the JEDD.

The new water line will extend from Steels Corners Road north to a point just north of Suncrest Gardens.

A subcommittee headed by Mr. Haury surveyed property owners along that section of Akron- Cleveland Road and the results of the survey showed that around 65% of the owners also wanted sanitary sewers extended to their properties.

Such an extension is now being discussed by the JEDD Board, Boston Township, officials of the City of Cuyahoga Falls and members of Summit County Council.

That stretch of Akron-Cleveland Road has long suffered from burning tire fires, failing septic systems, and an almost total lack of development due to the lack of sewer and water.

All the more significant, because Akron-Cleveland Road (former State Route 8) is a northern gateway to Boston Township, Cuyahoga Falls, the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, and Summit County.
