TWO FIRE/EMS LEVIES FOR BOSTON TOWNSHIP AND PENINSULA

The May 5 Ballot will have two levies for voters to approve in support of fire and EMS services for residents of Boston Township and the Village of Peninsula. Both Capital Levies are for five years and will support providing and maintaining equipment and other related costs for the Valley Fire District. Issue 6 on the ballot is for a renewal at 2.5 mill amounting to $75 for each $100,000 in property value.

Issue 7 is for an additional 1 mill amounting to $35 for each $100,000 in property value.

Recent capital expenses have seen dramatically increased costs for replacing aging equipment.
