Boston Township will continue to operate, albeit with less staffing hours and impacts on meetings. Trustee meetings will be much briefer with a focus on essentials to keep potential exposures at a minimum. Zoning meetings will not be held if there is no pending business. The business of the township will still be done but health and safety considerations must be taken into account.

Pullekins Retirement Event: Due to the restrictions on gatherings currently in place, the retirement event for Ed Pullekins has been postponed to a date to be determined. Please watch for the announcement of a new date after the ban on gatherings has been lifted.

Agreement with Peninsula Village: The agreement with Peninsula Village (regarding the provision of road services and their staff locating in the Township Road garage) has been extended to give time for both communities to explore all options.

Police Levy: The township*s police levy will be expiring at the end of 2020. The trustees have authorized the township solicitor to request estimates from the county for various budgeting scenarios that could be adopted. In order to be placed on the November 3 ballot, the township must file with the Board of Elections by August 5.

Zoning Inspector Applications: At the meeting held on March 11, Zoning Inspector Dan Schneider, Jr. requested that the trustees begin the process to find a replacement. Those wishing to be considered for the Zoning Inspector position should submit a resume with relevant experiences listed. Resumes should be received by the trustee*s meeting to be held on April 8.

A Welcome and a Thank You! The trustees would like to welcome Pam Schneider as the township*s Fiscal Officer starting April 1. Also, we would like to thank Catherine Anson for her service to the township. EASTER 2020

Who would have thought that most of us will be celebrating Easter in the confines of our homes! Still others are confined with people other than relatives or friends to hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, nursing homes or institutions. The Apostles spent their first Easter in fear with the doors locked. They, like us, did not know what to think. They had heard Truth. They had seen the blind and the lame cured and the dead raised. All this and more they heard and saw. Yet their faith was shaken. Perhaps we are very much like them, confused and fearful. For believers and unbelievers, Jesus conquered death. He lived our life, suffered and died. On the third day, He rose. He came to his friends though the doors were locked. He came and brought them "peace." They were incredulous for sheer joy. He was real, not a ghost. They saw nail marks and the wound in His side. He ate with them, spent time with them and then sent them forth to live and preach the Good News. So it has been for over two thousand years in good times and as now, in times of crisis. Even though this Easter we may not be gathering as a community to celebrate our faith as an Easter people or as friends and relatives rejoicing in the coming of Spring, we can use this time of grace to encourage each other by our compassion and love. May we continue to be caring and kind to our neighbors, especially the elderly, and for those who have no one else but you. Unlike the Apostles on that first Easter, we need not give in to doubts and fears. Jesus is Risen! Indeed, He is Risen! His peace is real, despite this crisis! Easter Blessings.

Father John D. Terzano

PENINSULA MIX

Former Peninsula resident Eric Conger was recently here for a visit. Eric is the son of Buzz and Connie Conger and he and his family were actively involved with the Peninsula Players. Eric is now writing a play with a tentative title of The Pinnacle. This will be about a fictitious town, but is loosely based on our area. While staying with the lovely Edna Ratner many of us were fortunate to visit with Eric and catch up on old times. He hopes to return around Memorial Day.

Get well and speedy recovery wishes to Greg Preneta, Marilyn Griffith, George Fisher, Jr., and Andrew Mayer.

At the beginning of this paper you will find an article with information to contact the Peninsula Foundation if you need help or are able to assist our residents in need of help. Special thanks to Karen Walters for offering assistance from the Foundation.

If you notice a street light that is dimmed or out, please note the pole number if possible and contact Ohio Edison for repairs
