DOESN’T

BOSTON TOWNSHIP

Condolences: The Trustees would like to express their condolences to the Mathies family on the death of Gordon Mathies, Sr. Gordon was a member of our appeals board and a good friend.

Get well wishes: Speedy recovery wishes to Doug Mayer. We are hoping he will be back to work in March.

FEMA reimbursement: The Township received a reimbursement for cleanup during the September 14th windstorm.

Pick-up truck purchase: A Chevy Colorado truck was purchased through the state purchasing program. The truck will be used for smaller jobs and reduce wear and tear on the larger trucks. The cost was $14,084.

Zoning positions: If you are interested in the open position on the appeals board or one of the alternate positions please contact one of the trustees before March 11, 2009.

2009 Organizational meeting: Committee assignments remain the same for 2009: Randy Bergdorf: cemetery board, zoning, and building and grounds. Jerry Ritch: police liaison and JEDD liaison. Amy Anderson: chairperson and fire board.

CVNP: Superintendent John Debo attended the January 14th Township meeting. Items of discussion included the race policy, road assistance projects, and the parks sewer project in the Everett area. Mr. Debo was asked to help a project for Valley Fire that would lower the ISO rating that would in turn lower insurance rates for township and village residents and businesses. The project requires an inspection from a civil engineer and the park has one on staff. A request was also made for a drop-in water unit for the grass fire truck. Valley Fire received a grant for this unit; however, it would require approximately $6,000 in matching funds. The request was for 100% funding.

JEDZ: On February 18th the three trustees and zoning board member Marty Griffith attended a presentation made by Western Reserve Hospital Partners, Summa Health System and Signet Healthcare at Stow City Hall. The presentation was attended by officials from Cuyahoga Falls, Stow and Hudson. If built, the new hospital facility would be located in the JEDZ area on Seasons Road.

Meeting: Trustee Anderson met with Deputy Chief of Staff Dino DiSanto and Nick Ciofani from Congressman Steve LaTourette’s office seeking help for township projects.

The Township Trustees meet the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 6:30 PM at the old township garage next to the Town Hall. The zoning commission meets the second Tuesday of each month and the board of zoning appeals meets the fourth Tuesday of each month beginning at 6:30PM (same location).
