PENINSULA VILLAGE

April Peninsula Village Council

Village Council voted to place Mary Booth in the late Bob Hunker’s Council Seat for the remainder of his term, which expires December 31, 2009. I am certain that Mary will capably fill his seat. She is leaving an unexpired term on the Board of Zoning Appeals.

On other items: Council will be holding a public hearing on several zoning issues on June 8 at 6:30 p.m., George Fisher Sr. was voted as the 2009 Lifetime Service Award recipient. Mr. Fisher served several terms as Village Mayor and councilman as well as assistant fire chief. Officer Dan Renz, who has been with the village police department for over 25 years was promoted to sergeant with no increase in pay; due to economic factors, the village road laborer position was changed to a part time position as of May 4, 2009; the village will be purchasing four used radar guns from Bath, subject to available funds for $100 each.

A reminder to all residents: all regular village council and board meetings are held at the village hall at 7:00 P.M. unless otherwise noted. If you would like to be put on the email lists for agendas and minutes, please email my office at peninsulavil@windstream.net.
