CONGRATULATIONS RANDY
Congratulations to Randy Bergdorf on his 30th anniversary at the Peninsula Library & Historical Society.
Randy began working at the library as a page on April 2, 1979. He received a Masters Degree in Library Science from Kent State University in 1984. Because of this and his avid interest in the history of the Boston Township and Peninsula area, he was hired as Archivist/Historian in 1984. Through his years in that position, he has built a large
collection of historic documents that preserve the past of this fast-changing area.
In 1996, the position of Clerk-Treasurer was added to Randy’s duties. He continues to act as steward of the finances of the library today. Last year the state officially changed the title of this position from Clerk-Treasurer to Fiscal Officer to more accurately reflect the duties.
In 1999, Randy’s title as Archivist was changed to Historical Collections Curator after which he was instrumental in establishing the Cuyahoga Valley Historical Museum.
In 2002 Randy was hired as the Director/Fiscal Officer. Having experience in all aspects of the library made Randy uniquely qualified for this position.
When you visit the library, please join the rest of the staff and the Board of Trustees in applauding Randy for all of his accomplishments.
