MOMENT OF REMEMBRANCE
Congress in 2000 enacted legislation, asking Americans on Memorial Day at 3:00 PM to pause in silence for a moment to honor and remember all who have given their lives for the freedom and life we so dearly cherish. It is an opportunity for all to give back to those who so valiantly sacrificed so much for so many for generations past, present and future. It is a way to be sure memorial is still in Memorial Day. Since 1971, it is day set aside by the nation to honor all have served our country since its founding. It is has been since 1866 that a special day has been set aside for visiting the graves of the fallen. Today we on the fourth Monday in May we will again place flags in tribute to their love of country more than life. We will remember all who have gone before us. Not with stone or chisel, but with a more lasting
memorial, unforgotten love in our hearts for all now laid to rest until the coming of the Lord in glory. Amen.
