BOSTON TOWNSHIP

BRUSH PICK-UP: Final brush pick-ups for 2012 will be October 1st and 22nd.

LEAF PICK-UP: Leaf pick-up begins October 15th.

EAD: the Trustees are continuing to finalize plans for the Economic Activity District. A public hearing was held on August 22, 2012 and following the hearing the Trustees voted to accept the text amendments as approved by the zoning commission.

DONATIONS: The Trustees gratefully accepted donations from Dave Hazelwood who lives on Wetmore Road and the Conservancy for the NPS. Mr. Hazelwood’s donation was the result of an article in YCN suggesting that people living in homes now owned by the NPS and not paying property taxes make a donation to offset the lack of taxes. The Conservancy donation was for the Trail Mix.

ROAD CLOSURE REQUESTS: The CVNP has requested that Summit County Council delay the closure of Oak Hill and Wetmore Roads through the next snow season. The city of Cuyahoga Falls is on record opposing these closures, but should the closures happen they are asking Summit County Council to mandate several conditions. Impacting the Township would be 25% of costs that would include construction of two 96’ diameter turning circles and lighting on Oak Hill. The next meeting of Summit County Council will be on December 3, 2012.
