PENINSULA COUNCIL

The Village of Peninsula Council met November 12, 2012 at the Town Hall. Mayor Mayer introduced Mr. Jeffrey Myers of Medina as his nomination for Police Chief. Council confirmed his appointment pending the outcome of his required testing. Mr. Mayer announced the retirement of Barbara Morehouse and thanked her for 15+ years of service. The Village of Richfield sent a thank you for the donation of ten Motorola 800 MHz radios.

Council was informed of the two govdeals.com auction items which were: 1994 International 4700 Dump Truck sold at $6,350 and the 1996 International 4900 Dump Truck sold at $5,850.

Local auction will be held December 1, 2012 at 10:00 am. at the Village Road Department Garage located at 6171 Locust Street, Peninsula. Items to be sold include: 4 Traffic Lights (4-way); 1 Cement Mixer (Red Lion/big Cat); 1 Weed eater- Husqvarna 22R; 1 Tree Pole Pruner; 1 Dell 15” Color Monitor; 1 ViewSonic 13” Color Monitor; 1 Dell Computer Tower with Keyboard and Mouse; 1 HP 6210 all in one printer; 1 HP Officejet Pro L7590 all in one printer; 1 Laptop Stand; 1 Edger (Trim Rite) swivel blade is frozen; 1 Kelly Greswell Paint Striper with Spray Guns and Hose; 1 Set of Road Stencils – Arrow – Letters O N L Y – Handicap Symbol; 1 Traffic Control Box (Crouse Hinds); 1 Paper Shredder; 2 Motorola MX320 400 MHz radio; 3 Maxon 400 MHz; 2 Motorola GM300 155 MHz Car Radio; Convertor Supply for Base Radio; Panasonic Toughbook Computers, no hard drive; 1 Xerox XC356 Copier, 2 Car Dash Mounts for 8mm Camera; 2 Crown Victoria Complete Computer Top and Stand; 1 Computer Top; 2 Shot Gun Locks; 1 Center Console; 1 Siren Speaker; 1 two Drawer Filing Cabinet; 32 windows from the Historic Town Hall (distinctive Antique Wavy Glass) to be sold in total as one lot or individual.

Council reviewed the new “Facebook” page. Ms. Booth updated Council as to the Players Barn roof repairs and requested that painting of the Town Hall be included within the 2013 budget. Ms. Booth also reported that the Candlelight Walk will be November 29 at 6:00 pm. G.A.R. Hall and will include a special acknowledgement of the “Best Hometown” award received from the Ohio Magazine. Christmas in Peninsula will be Saturday December 8.
