PENINSULA MIX
It's very depressing, seeing all those leaves piled up at the curbs, waiting to be hauled off to a land fill or whatever. Those very leaves could be enriching your gardens, enriching the yield they provide, enriching the health of your family, enriching the soil, which, hopefully, feeds your family. I could tell the world how to live, but, alas, it just doesn't seem to want to listen. We keep hearing reports that food costs will rise, so that is all the more reason to raise a garden of your own, preserve the produce by canning, drying, or freezing, and teaching children some survival skills at the same time.
By now, most of you may have heard of the great honor which has come to our Village through Ohio Magazine. See? …This is what happens when we don't give in to the pressures of those who yearned to see Peninsula turn into . . . S T R I P M A L L, U.S.A. It is sad that Bob Hunker did not live to see this honor, which he worked so hard to bring about, finally come home to roost.
