PENINSULA COUNCIL

The Village of Peninsula Council met May 13, 2013 at the Town Hall. A well-attended public forum just prior to the Council meeting was held allowing residents to openly discuss the proposed parking pay station. Residents responded to Ms. Hoody’s presentation with several questions and suggestions.

Boston Township Trustees attended the Council meeting for discussion and approval of the Cemetery millage. Many citizens attended the Council meeting and expressed their concerns and opinions of actions of Council members. Council discussed the seismic testing; park foot patrol contract; and status of applied grants.

Council approved the Planning Commission meeting date change. The Planning Commission meetings will be scheduled the third Monday of every month beginning July, 2013. The next Planning Commission meetings: May 21, June 18, July 15, August 19, September 16, October 21, November 18, and December 16, 2013.

Mary Booth announced the next Players Barn Committee meeting June 19, 2013 at the Peninsula Library, at 7:00 pm.

Mr. Anderson reported to Council that the RAMP UP Peninsula was a success, with 468 attendees. Mr. Schneider reported that the Fire Board pancake breakfast was also a success. The pancake breakfast included a dedication ceremony for the Valley Fire District Apparatus Building, dedicated to John R. Puchalsky and the Meeting Room dedication to John Lahoski.

Chipping is scheduled May through October, the First Monday of each Month.

Upcoming Town Hall Meetings:
Regular Session of Council: June 10, 2013 at 7:00 pm with a public hearing at 6:30 regarding the JEDD with Boston Township.
The Valley celebration as scheduled Sunday May 26, 2013 for a Potluck Dinner at the Boston Township Hall, 4:00 pm. until 8:00 pm.
