BOSTON TOWNSHIP

The township minutes are posted on our website at www.bostontownship.org and outside the fiscal office at the Boston Township Hall. Our meetings are covered by the Westside Leader.

CONDOLENCES: The Trustees expressed condolences to the Orahoske family on the death of Joseph H. Orahoske, Jr. Joe was a member of our Board of Zoning Appeals from 2003 until 2013. He is survived by his wife, Nancy, son Jason (Lisa), daughter Sarah and granddaughter Claire.

ZONING: Linda Littler was appointed to the Zoning Commission and Pam Schneider was appointed as secretary to the Zoning Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals. The Trustees look forward to working with them and appreciate their interest in these positions.

We still have an open position on the Zoning Commission as well as an open alternate position on the Zoning Commission. If you are interested, please contact one of the trustees.

At the BZA hearing on hearing on March 22, 2016 approval was given for a fence located at 2358 Boston Mills Road.

Mark Majewski of Northstar Planning made a presentation at the April 13, 2016 township meeting with regards to planning for the Route 8 corridor. The Trustees will continue to work with Mark on a comprehensive plan.

Our thanks to Paul Baker for helping out as assistant zoning inspector while Doug Mayer was on sick leave. We are happy to see Doug back to work.

EMPLOYEE HANDBOOK: The Trustees approved a new employee handbook that includes the newly adopted drug and alcohol policy.

POLICING: Peninsula Police continue to investigate the extensive amount of tagging on roads, signs, and buildings in the Township.
