MEMORIAL DAY

It's time for Memorial Day planning again. Special thanks to Melody DeMarco for the donation of a casket flag. The flag honors Homer Edward Newton who was born in West Richfield Ohio. Mr. Newton served in the Army during World War II and was in the Battle of Kasserina Pass. The flag will be used in Cedar Gove Cemetery on Memorial Day.

If you are planning to be in the "Memorial Day Parades" or having a group march, you MUST call me and confirm your participation. 330-657-2064.

At 9:00AM in the Township's service garage (old fire station) Valley Fire will be providing doughnuts and coffee.

There will be a brief service at the Memorial Grove at the Peninsula Library at 10:00AM. This service commemorates the service of former staff, board members, and friends of the Peninsula Library who have passed away.

The parade will step off in Peninsula at the corner of Riverview and Main Street at 11:00AM. Following the service at Cedar Grove the next stop is Boston where we will reconvene at the old Boston Community Church before heading to the Boston Cemetery on Main Street. Light refreshments will be available at the church. This is a good time to take a brief break and visit with your friends and neighbors. If you are participating in the first parade, please plan on attending BOTH parades.

Please remember no dogs are allowed in either cemetery.
