BOSTON TOWNSHIP

The township minutes are posted on our website at www.bostontownship.org and outside the fiscal office at the Boston Township Hall. Trustee meetings are the second and fourth Wednesday of the month. Zoning commission meets the second Tuesday of the month and the Board of Zoning Appeals meets the fourth Wednesday of the month.

Condolences: At the trustees` meeting held on February 12, condolences were offered to the family of Peninsula councilman Mike Matusz. As the village liaison to their road department, Mike was deeply involved in crafting a plan with the township to move forward after last year`s devastating fire at the village`s road garage. Mike also was a village representative on the Boston-Peninsula Joint Economic Development District board. His always-present sense of humor and positive approach to providing services to the community will be deeply missed. (Please read the more comprehensive tribute to Mike elsewhere in this issue).

Pullekins Reminder: Please come to an open house to honor and thank former solicitor Ed Pullekins for his 38 years of service to Boston Township. The reception will be held in the Township Meeting room on Saturday, March 21 from 2 to 4PM.

Driveway Address Markers: After many years of being in place, we have come to find the "black with white numbers" driveway address markers in the township are showing their age. In some instances they have gone missing entirely. If your driveway address marker is in need of replacement, please notify the township road garage at (330) 657-2600.

Police Levy: The township`s police levy will be expiring at the end of 2020. The trustees have authorized the township solicitor to request estimates from the county for various budgeting scenarios that could be adopted. In order to be placed on the November 3 ballot, the township must file with the Board of Elections by August 5.
