CONDOLENCES

Richard Fisher, Sr. passed away June 28, 2020 following a brief illness. Dick served on Peninsula Village Council from January 1976 through December 1979. He was Mayor of Peninsula from January 1980 through December 1987 and from January 2008 through December 2011. Preceded in death by his parents George, Sr. and Mary, Dick is survived by his children Richard, Jr. and Julie (Bill) Cole; grand-children Ben (Serena), Kelsey (Ricky) Rye, Sean (Katie), and Richard III; great-grandchildren, Pepper, Grace, Aiden, Crosby, and Marlie; brothers Tom and George, Jr.

Lifelong friends Woody Johnston and Dick Fisher

Woodrow Johnston passed away June 30, 2020 following a lengthy illness. He was 83. Woody was a member of the Operative Plasterers` and Cement Masons` Local 109 and did much of the masonry and plastering for homes in our community. Preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Helen, and daughter Mary Booth, Woody is survived by his wife, Peg; daughter Autumn (Marcus Walker) and grandson David Booth; sisters Elaine Krusinski and Claire Rodhe; step-daughters, Carolyn Mourton, Lauren Smith, Sherri (John) Iannacchione, Kathy (Jim) Bebbe, and Patty (Dave) Krusinski.

Tom Mercer, passed away, July 5, 2020 at the age of 63. Tom grew up in Peninsula and was a 1975 graduate of Woodridge High School. Carrying on in the footsteps of his father, Tom was involved with the Woodridge Recreation Association and was one of the group responsible for bringing the soccer program to the community. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Marcy. He is survived by his wife, Linda; children: Kendall (Andy), Derek (Michelle), and Megan; grandchildren, Vincent and Owen; brothers, David, Scott, and Greg (Denise).
