Martha`s husband joined the Civil War shortly after they were married and Martha could not bear to be left behind, so she dressed in men`s clothing and joined the service and served beside her husband for three years. This program will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 7:00PM where reservations are requested. Please stop in the library, call or email to save a seat.
SUMMER READING CLUB FOR ALL AGES
Color Our World is the theme of Summer Reading Club for 2025. The Peninsula Library will have reading club programs for three age groups: ages three through eleven, Tweens/Teens twelve through seventeen, and adults eighteen and up. Registration will begin at 10:00AM on Tuesday, May 27 and you will receive a Summer Reading Club Kit with information about the program in your age group. After you register, grab a crayon/coloring pencil and seven-foot-long coloring page.
Summer Reading Club for Preschoolers through age eleven on Tuesdays at 10:30AM.
There will be programs on Tuesdays for Ages three to eleven at 10:30AM. Read or get read to for one hour and mark off on your sheet, then turn in the sheet to get a Scratch Off ticket to win a prize. When you read for ten hours, you get an entry into a grand prize drawing. More details will be forthcoming but save these dates for fun interactive programs.

Summer Reading Club for ages twelve and up on Thursdays at 11:00AM.
The tweens/teens will meet on Thursdays at 11:00AM. Read books for the chance to win a grand prize entry. Each week there will be a fun art activity. More details will be forthcoming, but save these dates.

Summer Reading Club for Adults 18+ May 30 to July 28.
You`re never too old to join Summer Reading Club. Sign up for reading fun at the Peninsula Library. Just read or listen to books of your choice for chances to win prizes. Complete an activity sheet found in your Reading Bag Kit and turn in at the library to select a prize from the prize basket. Complete the bookmark entry form and your name will be entered into a raffle to win grand prizes (gift cards from local businesses) Registration begins on Tuesday, May 27 at 10:00AM.
