PEDDLER’S DAY

Peddler’s Day is October 1, 2011. Please contact Mary Booth, 330-657-2244, to get your name and sale location on the Peddler’s Day Map. When you see Nina this year, please be sure to tip your hat. Nina is not sure when she organized the first Peninsula Garage Sale Day at the behest of then Mayor Dick Fisher and Councilwoman Carol Wright, but it has been “about 30 years ago now”. She does know that 12 years ago she re-named it Peninsula Peddler’s Day. It has since grown to an endearing annual event. Throughout these years, Nina carried the torch for us peddlers, organized us, paid the advertising, and made the map. We have had a lot of fun, sold some stuff, and literally created village traditions around this day. Some say they love it more than Thanksgiving (you know who you are!). Nina says she is retiring from Peddler’s Day, so just in case she means it: THANK YOU, NINA! And Wayne, thank you too!
